Sturgeon Lake First Nation, also known as “Minis-ah-wi-ta-we-ska-hi-gan,” meaning “The Lake of the White Fish,” is a thriving Indigenous community situated approximately 50 kilometers northwest of Prince Albert. Our land encompasses a diverse and abundant landscape, comprising boreal forests, pristine lakes, rolling hills, and lush meadows.
The history of Sturgeon Lake First Nation is deeply rooted in our traditional Indigenous heritage. For countless generations, our ancestors have nurtured and protected this land, passing down their knowledge, customs, and teachings from one generation to the next. As proud members of the Cree Nation, we continue to honor and preserve our unique culture and maintain a deep connection with the land.
